CONFIRMED Machine Project EVENTS:
There will be an informative display on Fritz Haeg’s Edible Estates project.
The Fallen Fruit Collective will conduct a jam-making workshop.
Percussionist Corey Fogel will perform with 500 pepper shakers.
Sewing basics will be taught in a Machine Sewing 101 workshop.
Interested attendees will learn how to solder sound circuits with Mark Allen.
There will be a lecture linking Gnosticism, memory palaces, Y2K, text gaming and Roswell to the Disney film Tron.
Margaret Wertheim from the Institute for Figuring will give a talk and workshop on hyperbolic crochet, and present a crocheted reef.
Ambient music + free haircuts from volunteer hairdressers = ambient haircuts for the public.
Joshua Beckman and Anthony McCann will read poetry.
An EtherPEG display will let us peek at all the images being sent over the area’s local network.
The group ING will present a site-specific musical performance.
Tina Marin will demonstrate how to crochet your own boots.
Players will avoid zombies in a dynamic video game.
Jessica Hutchins’ sculptures will appear in the auditorium restrooms, and she will give a reading.
We will be selling copies of various Machine Publications, MAKE and CRAFT magazines, as well as the Journal of Aesthetics and Protest.
Emily Lacey will perform music and teach web design.
There will be a costumed dance performance in medieval armor from Brody Condon.
There will be a guided exercise in the generation of collaborative narratives.
There will be a display on an extracting ethanol, an alternative fuel source, from sugar.
We'll build a 8 foot volcano out of live flowers
Phil Ross will show a small piece involving hydroponics.
