Jonathan Anderson & Edwin Low, have worked as a team since 1990.
Their collaboration encompass portraiture, still life, nudes, architecture,
landscapes and commissioned work. Their work has been acquired and exhibited
in numerous galleries and museums worldwide.
Jim Goldberg’s work with various sub-cultures
and use of image and text are a landmark in the field. His photographs
have appeared in Esquire, Colours, Dazed & Confused, and Nest magazines.
He has exhibiting internationally and his books include Rich and Poor,
Raised by Wolves and Hospice. His awards incldue NEA & Guggenheim
Fellowships.
Virginia Heckert joined the curatorial
staff of the J. Paul Getty’s
Department of Photographs in November of 2005, following a four-year
tenure as the inaugural William & Sarah Ross Soter Curator of Photography
at the Norton Museum in West Palm Beach, FL.
Todd
Hido’s work has been featured in Artforum, The New York
Times Magazine, Doubletake, Metropolis, and Vanity Fair. His photographs
are in the permanent collections of the Whitney Museum of Art, the Guggenheim
Museum and the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.
Mona Kuhn will talk about her new body
of work, Evidence, which has just been published by Steidl. Internationally
recognized for her images of the human form, Kuhn’s new body
of work revolves around metaphors of original sin and raising questions
about lost paradises and “innocent” youth.
Alec Soth was named the discovery of the
2004 Whitney Biennial by the New York Times and received accolades
for his photographs of dreamer-types, prisoners and sleepy towns along
the Mississippi River. His work is represented in major private and
public collections, SF MoMA, Museum of Fine Arts, Houston & the
Walker Art Center in Minneapolis.
Mary Virginia Swanson is a respected
consultant to the photographic industry, and contributes to many photographic
publications. She is a strong advocate for collecting the work of emerging
and mid-career photographers; during her seminar she will share insights
and resources for new and established collectors.
Robert Weingarten is known for his series on the Amish, his studies
of Malibu sunrises entitled 6:30 am & his recent project, the Palette
Series (details of the working surfaces in the studios of Jasper Johns,
Ed Ruscha and others). His work has been exhibited at the George Eastman
House and the Corcoran Gallery.
Stephen White, the founding President of the Association of International
Photography Art Dealers is a publisher, editor, author as well as curator.
Exhibitions assembled under his guidance have shown in many museums around
the world.
